Meet Debbie Jackson
AVK UK welcomes Debbie Jackson to our fittings division 21-08-2023
AVK UK is delighted to welcome Debbie Jackson to our growing fittings division – joining us as Business Development Manager for Fittings.
Debbie is looking after our large diameter fittings and fabrications, supporting customers with repair solutions to large diameter pipe bursts and project schemes.
During her first few weeks at the business, she has been getting to know the team and AVK UK’s customers, as well as our state-of-the-art Syddal manufacturing facility, in Hyde, near Manchester.
The site is the UK headquarters for mechanical fittings manufacture and distribution, providing the Water, Gas and Wastewater utility sectors with a complete range of pipe work fittings, from bespoke fabrications to simple repair clamps. Through investment in robotic welding, accelerating the manufacturing cycle, AVK Syddal also offers a 24/7 emergency same day leak repair clamp service for water mains.
Debbie’s background is in construction and utilities, previously working for civils supplier Keyline. Having been at the company for seven years, her focus was on the water utilities side of the business, which was vital during the Covid-19 pandemic, when they were classed as an essential service, supplying repair and maintenance solutions to large contractors across the country.
Prior to Keyline, Debbie had spent 13 years at Burdens, where she started on the trade counter in 2002. She worked her way up to the sales office before eventually looking after the logistics, procurement, and supply of materials for Welsh Water in the north.
In 2023, Debbie was approached by AVK UK, who were looking to expand the fittings team to better serve the company’s growing customer base.
She said:
“I was thrilled to join the company during this exciting time. Throughout my career, my passion has always been for the water utilities industry, so I was delighted when I was approached by AVK.
“I’m very customer focussed – I really believe it’s the key to delivering high-quality products and services – so I’m looking forward to getting to know our customers better over the coming months. "I live with my 2 sons in a small village called Llanddulas, North Wales and I’m very lucky to live a stones throw from the beach to walk my dogs and it’s an hours’ drive to Snowdonia to enjoy cold water swimming, there are some stunning locations in North Wales.
I also like to travel, long haul & city breaks. I visit Dublin every year in August to ensure the Guinness is up to standard!"
