As a major industrial group of companies with an international footprint and first class reputation, AVK recognises and embraces its responsibilities to contribute to a sustainable future for our society.
The UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the framework for the global effort within sustainable development. The goals recognise that social, economic, and environmental development are intrinsically linked and that it requires a common, global effort to achieve lasting results. SDGs 6 and 9 are particularly relevant to our business model but we also impact on other goals (notably 3,7,8,11,12,13,17) either strategically or via decentralised activities as detailed further in our Group Sustainability report pages 12 and 13

Our Activities
AVK UK Limited are market leaders in the design, engineering and manufacture of valves, fittings and flow control equipment. Known as leading innovators, AVK have a long and proud history of manufacturing products for the UK gas and water sectors as witnessed by brands such as Donkin, Fusion, Invicta, Glenfield, Syddal and, last but not least, AVK itself.
Our products play a vital role in community infrastructure and contribute positively to the climate and environment with high functionality, high quality and a long lifetime. The AVK Group focus on developing products that can contribute positively to sustainable development. Traditionally, we have had a strong focus on innovation and development of new and optimised products of high quality and with a long lifetime and recyclability. In addition, we continuously focus on optimising our processes and production via long-term investments for the benefit of the company, our employees, customers and the environment.
We recognise the danger of environmental impact when developing business opportunities on a global scale. As a result, we are committed to constantly working on reducing this impact to a minimum. All our production companies are certified according to ISO 14001 in respect of environmental management and to OHSAS 18001, the international standard for occupational health and safety environment.
Our purpose
Our purpose is to develop, manufacture and market products of high quality and with a long lifetime that are part of vital infrastructure including water supply, wastewater treatment and energy supply as well as a variety of other industrial applications that all together contribute to sustainable development, the health of people and a better environment.
